Bloom is built to keep as little about you as possible. Here's exactly what happens with your information, in plain words.

What stays on your device

Your chat history, the things Bloom remembers about you, your good things jar, your name or nickname, and how you've set up your Bloom are saved in your own browser on your own device. We don't keep a copy on our servers, and there's no account to sign in to.

When you sign up, we check your birthday to make sure you're 18 or older. We only save "this person is an adult". We never save your birthday.

What gets sent to make Bloom reply

To write each reply, your recent messages (up to the last 20), your name or nickname, your chosen vibe and interests, and the short notes Bloom remembers are sent to our AI provider. Today that's Google's Gemini model, reached through Vercel's AI Gateway. They process it to create the reply. We don't save your messages, and we don't use them to train AI.

Reports

If you tap 🚩 to report a reply, we receive that reply, your message just before it, and the reason you picked, so we can review it and make Bloom better. Reports don't include your name.

Cookies

We use one small cookie to count your free messages for the day. It holds only a date and a number. No ad or tracking cookies.

Safety messages

If a message sounds like you might be in crisis, Bloom shows you crisis resources such as 988. We don't contact anyone or send anyone to you, and we don't save the message.

What we never do

Deleting your data

Open Bloom, go to Make it yours, and tap Delete my data. That erases everything Bloom saved on your device. You can also go straight there. Clearing your browser's data for bloompal.app does the same thing.

Adults only

Bloom is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
